Fire hose reels are located to provide a reasonably accessible and controlled supply of water to combat a potential fire risk.They are ideal for large high risk environments such as schools, hotels, factories etc.They are designed to I.S.EN 671–part1. Hose reels can come in lengths of 30m of 19mm and 25mm hose.Hose Reels are available in fixed, swinging, recessed and concealed versions with automatic or manual valves.

Hose reels are used:

  1. In large areas or corridors where a 9 liter extinguisher may not provide adequate cover.
  2. In buildings where the floor area exceeds 500m2.
  3. When required by fire safety certificate or by insurers.

A fire hose is a very high pressure hose that is used to take water to a fire. It may also carry fire retardant materials. Fire hoses can be attached to either a fire engine or a fire hydrant, and the pressure is between 8 and 20Bar. Drying of fire hoses after use is very important because water that is left in a hose can cause deterioration.

Fire hoses are manufactured in the following configurations:

Application: A hose with one layer is called single jacket hose and is used where light‐weight is important or where the hose is expected to have in frequent service.

Application: A hose with two layers is called a double jacket hose and is used where weight is not as critical and where the hose is expected to have frequent,some times harsh use, as in urban fire service.
